Luc Besson and his company EuropaCorp are planning to produce a film about Yves Saint Laurent, the famous French designer who passed away in June 2008. The news arrives 8 months after the re-branding of Saint Laurent’s label YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) to Saint Laurent Paris.
The film will be directed by French director Bertrand Bonello. The film is said to be released in 2014 and will star Gaspard Ulliel, as the designer himself, with Jérémie Renier as his lover and business partner Pierre Berge and Léa Seydoux as his muse Loulou de la Falaise.
The movie will focus on Saint Laurent’s 1965-1976 period and is set to start shooting in mid-June. According to several sources, a second biopic is said to shoot at the same time and is produced by SND-M6 Group.
