The most glamorous extravaganza has returned London. The Vogue Festival 2013, in association with Vertu, welcomes once again leading designers, fashion editors, models, photographers and celebrities to the stage of the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre in London.
Like last year, both days are packed with titans of the fashion industry and the promise for glamour, glitz as well as interesting and stimulating debates and talks. Saturday kicks of with So you want to be a Fashion Designer? Jonathan Anderson, Mary Katrantzou, Erdem Moralioglu and Jonathan Saunders talk fashion today and discuss what it takes to launch a career. In Can Fashion Change the World? “Queen of green” Livia Firth will join fashion activist Vivienne Westwood and Katharine Hammett, Louis Vuitton collaborator and Vogue contributor Tom Craig and Vogue features director Jo Ellison in a discussion on social responsibility. At 12:30, founder and executive chairman of Net-a-Porter Natalie Massenet will share her story and her thoughts on high fashion, the future of e-tail and the upcoming changes in the fashion industry. On Sunday, Victoria Beckham will kick of the last day of the Vogue Festival. In a talk with Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, Victoria will share her successful leap into the fashion world and her thoughts on the Fashion industry. At 12:30 Jonathan Akeroyd (CEO of Alexander McQueen) will join fashion designer Christopher Kane, accessories designer Anya Hindmarch and Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon in discussing The Secrets of Creating a British Brand. Later, find out what exactly makes Mario Testino one of the best photographers of our time. Too Fat, Too Thin… Will we ever be content? Will see models David Gandy and Daisy Lowe, actress Patsy Kensit, Vogue editor-at-large Fiona Golfar and Vogue contributing editor Christa D’Souza in a controversial debate over body image and its role in fashion.
